my 25th birthday wishlist ♡

my birthday is in less than a month now (and my boyfriend’s is the week after mine, so expect gift ideas post for that soon!) so here’s the mandatory wishlist post!

1. build-a-bear bat

sooo cute!!! i love my birthday being in september, just after august and october - the perfect “augtober” spooky cozy girl birthday - because a lot of brands release their halloween limited editions just in time for my annual holiday.
you can imagine the joy i felt when i saw build-a-bear come out with this adorable little bat, and i can’t wait to add my boyfriend’s voice box inside. of course, we’ll be going together to adopt this cutie ♡

2. macbook

damn i miss my macbook so much. it’s been sat in my parent’s cupboard for over two years now, waiting to get fixed and i think now that ive started girlblogging and coding, its time to get a new one or finally get this one fixed. customising my blog on my phone or ipad just isn’t the same girls!!

3. digicam

just like with my laptop, my betty boop edition digicam (by lola) has given up on me and won’t charge. i really miss immortalising my memories and romanticising my life through photography, so i either want to purchase a new camera or an iphone 5 for that nostalgic retro aesthetic.

4. ugg boots

i wouldn’t even dare show you guys my beaten up uggs!! they’re so gross and beyond repair. so, like with the other two things on my list, it’s time to replace them. my likes really haven’t changed and it seems like i don’t yearn for anything that i don’t already own, which feels pretty good, but a new pair of bailey uggs would be so tea.

5. asics x empty behaviour balletcore sneakers

actually the only properly *new* item on my wishlist - the most beautiful pair of coquette gym shoes featuring lace and ribbon details. these are just perfect and i’m sure they will make me enjoy hoong

Welcome to my blog diva ♡

I’m so happy you’re here!

I’m Veronika (aka Vee) & this little corner of the internet is a digital diary of my twenties; a place to document the beautiful, messy, exciting and at times confusing journey of figuring life out as a thought daughter in the modern world.

Here you will find pieces of everything: from travel stories, life updates, late-night thoughts, little moments of joy, personal essays and lessons learnt along the way. It’s a divine collection of moments that slowly piece together to form my identity, the mosaic of me.

I’m currently living in London, but I was born in Poland 24 years ago, and I’m currently on a mission to become a tattoo artist. I studied fashion in university, and after getting diagnosed with ADHD and bipolar disorder, I struggled to keep my life together so I began writing and exploring my life to decide what I want to make of myself.

We are all multi-faceted beings with so much to offer, and this is just one aspect of my life, but art finds itself in pretty much everything.
It’s about romanticising the ordinary, embracing the unknown, chasing the life you’re curious about, while remembering that we are not supposed to have it all figured out in our twenties. Some of the best chapters in our lives are the ones still being written, and there is time to make edits.

Whether you’re here because you’re also just a girl navigating her early adulthood, looking for style and travel inspiration, a cozy evening read, or stumbled on this site by accident, I’m so glad you did.

So stay a while, and don’t forget to leave a note in the injuredfawn’s guestbook before you go.

Love from Vee ⋆.𐙚 ̊

a letter to the girl i was at 18

Dear 18-year-old me,

I wonder what you would think if you could see me now.

You’d probably be surprised by how different everything looks. Maybe you’d be disappointed by some of the things that didn’t happen. Maybe you’d be proud of the things you never thought you’d survive.

You were so desperate to become someone, while being loved for the version of yourself you have outgrown.

You thought adulthood would arrive all at once — that one day you’d wake up knowing exactly who you were, where you were going, what you wanted, and how to get there.

I’m sorry to tell you that it doesn’t really happen like that.

You are going to lose people, like the boyfriend you’re currently living with. You’re going to lose versions of yourself, too. Some of them you’ll mourn. Some of them you’ll be relieved to leave behind.

You’re going to make choices you don’t understand until years later.

Please don’t hate yourself for them.

You were always doing the best you could with the information you had at the time.

I wish I could tell you that you don’t have to prove your worth by being desirable, successful, beautiful, productive, or wanted.

You don’t have to be chosen.

You don’t have to make yourself smaller so somebody else can feel bigger.

You don’t have to become whatever version of yourself you think will finally make everyone stay.

I wish you’d understood sooner that being loved and being treated well are not the same thing.

And I wish you’d known that leaving something behind doesn’t mean you failed.

Sometimes leaving is the bravest thing you can do.

There are going to be moments where you feel completely lost. You’ll wonder if you’ve ruined your life. You’ll compare yourself to girls who seem years ahead of you and wonder why you’re struggling to keep up.

Don’t.

Your life isn’t late.

There is no universal timeline for becoming yourself.

You will change your mind. You’ll change your appearance. You’ll change your dreams. You’ll fall in love with things you once thought weren’t for you.

Let yourself.

You don’t owe anyone consistency when you’re still discovering who you are.

And please keep creating.

Keep taking photographs. Keep writing things down. Keep collecting little pieces of beauty. Keep dressing in your unique way. Keep listening to music too loudly. Keep romanticising the ordinary.

One day, those little things will become evidence that you were here.

That you existed through all of it.

And eventually, you’ll realise something:

You weren’t supposed to become a completely different girl.

You were supposed to come home to yourself.

So, 18-year-old me, I’m sorry for every time I called you stupid when you were actually just learning.

I’m sorry for every time I called you weak when you were exhausted.

I’m sorry for every time I looked at you and only saw everything you weren’t.

You deserved the tenderness I kept waiting for somebody else to give you.

I’m trying to give it to you now.

Love,

Me, a little older. ♡

hey divas ♡

august, along with the eclipse and new moon this week, feels like the right time to start something new. my morning started with my intentions-infused coffee, a brief journaling session and posting pictures from last night of my boyfriend and i watching the eclipse in london. we sat and enjoyed a picnic in the park while conversing about the versions of ourselves we’ve outgrown and admiring the individuals we are growing to be as of recent. i felt a kind of peace i’ve not felt in years (moving to a new city has been chaotic, to say the least) and an embrace of poverty as the moon and sun met for a global moment that’s not been seen in almost three decades.

in honesty, i feel a bit pranked by nasa as there was SO much to see, but the whole experience did feel surreal for more metaphysical reasons than the visuals.

my goals for the next six months are to discover a confidence within myself that stems from my true identity and ability to maintain a childlike curiosity that i seem to have lost over the last few years, while blogging about my interests, hyper fixations and meeting girl blogging friends along the way! ♡

i created this blog on my phone, eager to start writing rather than waiting for my macbook to get fixed (*cry*) because truly, the best time to start something really is now – and it’s also a reminder to read that book along with a invitation to check out my bookshelf on goodreads (hehe)

gosh. this post was only meant to be a short hello, and i haven’t even introduced myself by name. oh~ the perks of adhd!!

let’s start again…

i’m veronika (but you can call me vee). 24. virgo older sister, born in poland but living in london. i love yoga, coffee, cats and i dream of becoming a tattoo artist, even though sometimes it feels like i’ve started that a bit late. i went to fashion school, yet my style feels all over the place. i love horror and macabre but also girly soft aesthetics, hence the blog name i guess?

this blog was essentially created to cure my boredom

since young i’ve loved to write and have actually ran - and sadly abandoned - a few blogs in my life. i tried the whole substack thing too, but i don’t love the ui, so i find myself returning to blogger and tumblr.

i don’t have a specific set of ideas, as i don’t want to limit what i write about. consider this a digital diary than a blog/magazine, but anything goes! as time goes on, injuredfawn will reveal its identity in vibrant colours.

love, yours truly – vee ⋆˚꩜。
